1. Definitions: Location, place, toponym, site, and situation.

Location: A particular place or position.

Place: A particular position in place or situation.

Toponym: A place name, especially one derived from topographical feature.

Site: An area of ground on which a town, building, or monument is constructed.

Situation: The location and surroundings of a place.

2. The 3 ways human geographers describe location:

Toponym, site and situation.

3. I would choose location C on the 1650 map. I would choose location C because it is near good farmland, near another community where trade is possible, and it is near the ocean where they have an increase in food.
4. I would choose location A for the 1830 map because it is right next to a waterfall, where there if fresh water, and it is also near rivers and swamps.
5. I would choose location C for the 1880 map because it is right next to good farm land, right next to coal, right on the shore, where there would be an increase in food and it is also around 10 miles from mountains. None of the other locations have access to these places, making location C the best one.
